How to Assemble an I-140 Petition Package
Please provide in a plastic sleeve:
A copy of your passport (all pages containing stamps; do not copy blank pages);
A copy of your current non-resident visa status approval notice (F-1, J-1, H1-B, etc.);
A copy of the front and back of your most recent I-94 card. Electronic I-94 records are now kept by the CBP. Go to the following website to print documentation and retrieve your I-94 number- https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html.
Two copies of the ETA 750B with your original signature. The Privacy Act Statement should not be included.
On top of the petition letter, please provide:
The confirmation receipt notice from your I-140 e-filing (for e-filed I-140s) or Form I-140 (for paper-based filed I-140s).
Foreign name and address page: include a sheet at the front of your package with your name and foreign address written in your native language if your native language does not use Roman letters. Since English is an official language of India, you are not required to provide your name or foreign address written in your native language as long as you were born in India.
Provide a legible and complete copy of your petition letter.
Recommendation letters:
Your supporters’ CVs should be included behind the signed recommendation letters. If your supporters’ CVs are not available, a printed online biography is sufficient.
Do not include more than 5 pages of each supporter’s CV.
A copy of our highest degree diploma along with academic transcripts/records. The diploma must be supplemented by a degree equivalency evaluation if the highest degree is from a foreign university. Exception: Since the USCIS acknowledges that the M.B.B.S. is equal to an M.D., you do not need to supply a degree evaluation if the highest degree is an M.B.B.S. from an institution in India.
A copy of the first 3-5 pages of your publications with your name highlighted in the author list.
Copies of your conference presentations with your name highlighted. In the case of conference schedules, only provide the first page and any subsequent pages that contain your name, with your name highlighted anywhere it appears.
Information about the publications where your work has been published.
Your citation record: Only submit official citation records. For proof of international citations, include both proof that the article cited your work (may be taken from Google Scholar) and proof of the citing institution (usually the article’s first page). Your name and total number of citations should be highlighted. If submitted, the relevant discipline in the citation averages table should also be highlighted.
Peer review: Provide proof that you finished the review work (i.e., thank you letters).
